New berth will be tested in the port of Arish

The new berth will be tested in the port of Arish, according to the Suez Canal Economic Department.

The first ship carrying humanitarian aid for Turkey and Syria was the first convoy to be received by the port of Arish, where all preparations, equipment, and procedures for mooring, tying, and loading the ship were taken. The Suez Canal Economic Zone announced the trial operation of the new berth after its development at the port of Arish, with a length of 915 km.

The sea port of Al-Arish was chosen as the closest sea point to the two countries and connected to a network of roads and tunnels, whether the Tunnel south of Port Said or Tahya Misr in Ismailia, which aided in the movement of the aid convoy from Cairo to North Sinai Governorate, heading to the port of Latakia in Syria and then to Turkey via the port of Al-Arish.
