This role involves preparing and verifying clearance documents, liaising with customs authorities, and coordinating with internal teams, shipping lines, and clients to ensure timely cargo release. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of customs regulations, documentation requirements, and international trade compliance—with a proactive approach to problem-solving and excellent coordination skills.

Responsibilities
Customs Clearance Operations
- Handle complete import and export customs clearance procedures in compliance with regulations.
- Prepare, review, and submit all necessary clearance documents (invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, B/L).
- Coordinate with shipping lines, airlines, and transport companies to ensure smooth cargo release.
- Manage and submit ACID/NAFEZA registrations and VGM submissions as required.
- Follow up with customs officers, ports, and airports to resolve clearance-related issues.
Documentation & Compliance
- Ensure all documentation complies with local customs laws and international trade regulations.
- Verify HS codes, tariffs, and duty structures to calculate applicable charges.
- Maintain updated knowledge of customs laws, government rules, and clearance procedures.
- Keep records of all clearance operations and submit reports to management.
Coordination & Support
- Collaborate with sales, operations, and documentation teams to ensure smooth cargo handling.
- Provide clients with updates on cargo status, clearance progress, and delivery schedules.
- Manage communication with banks and shipping lines for payments, duties, and release orders.
- Assist in renewing company licenses, permits, and trade-related documents.
Customs Clearance Executive Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in customs clearance (preferably in freight forwarding/logistics).
- Strong knowledge of customs regulations, HS codes, and trade compliance.
- Familiarity with CargoX, Nafeza, and other clearance platforms.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office; Odoo ERP experience is an advantage.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
